After a long series about Istanbul and the Turkish culture I’ve made my next trip to Dublin. And the name of Ireland’s capital already indicates its Celtic influences. At the beginning I have to confuse you with something. In Irish Dublin is called Baile Átha Cliath which literally means city on the ford. However the name Dublin which is used in English and any other language is also originally Irish. The original form is dubh linn and it means black pool refering to its geographical situation. Here you can see me standing in front of the Ha’Penny Bridge on my way to Temple Bar. In my next articles I’m going to tell you some interesting facts and stories about Dublin and the Celtic cultures. So check out my blog regularly in the next weeks!
